Sylvia M. Duran's Obituary
With great sorrow, we announce the passing of Sylvia M. Duran, on Sunday June 19, 2022 at the age, of 67, in her residence in Rio Grande City, Texas. Sylvia, was a dearly loving mother, daughter, sister, grand-mother, niece, and friend. She will be greatly missed by her beloved family and close friends. Sylvia, was born on July 10, 1954 in La Joya, Texas, to Dario Martinez and Maria Irma Guerra. She is preceded in death by her loving parents, and by her sister, Nora M. Heyneman. She is survived by her loving children, Ricardo Duran Jr (wife Lisa), Ronnie R. Rivera, and Robert Eric Duran (wife Cindy). Her siblings Paz Martinez, Janie M. Flores (husband Edward), Julia Owens (husband Joe and her long time companion, Juan Antonio Mata. Survivors also include her 12 grandchildren, 4 great-grand-children, and many cousins, nieces, nephews, and extended family, all whom she loved dearly. Visitation is going to be on Thursday June 23, 2022 from 1:00 pm to 8:00 pm with a service at 6:00 pm. Followed by Cremation. Due to the current climate surrounding COVID -19, we are limiting the amount of visitors to our facility and requiring all guests to please wear a mask and observe social distancing. Services are entrusted to Hernandez Funerals in Rio Grande City.
