Sulema Maria Marroquin Gutierrez's Obituary
Sulema Maria Marroquin Gutierrez, 66, died unexpectedly on Monday June 27th, 2022 at 11:05 AM CST at Scott & White Baylor Hospital in Temple, TX. She was born in Weslaco, TX on June 12th, 1956. She is the eldest daughter of Antonio Marroquin Jr and Benilde Lopez Marroquin. Suelma attended Rio Grande City High School.
In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her sister Belia Kruse, brother Arturo Marroquin, and brother Lucio Marroquin. She is survived by her oldest daughter Clemencia Angie Cifuentes and son Richard Juan Gutierrez. Her siblings left behind are brothers, Antonio Marroquin III, David Marroquin, Ismael Alonzo Marroquin, Jesus Marroquin, Noe Marroquin, Rey Marroquin, and sister, Andrea Marroquin.
She was happily married to Mike Clary for 22 years. Most of their time together was spent traveling and exploring nature. They loved spending time with their children and grandchildren (and their many many dogs). Suelma enjoyed fishing with her best friend Jimmy, collecting rocks from different state parks, and painting whenever she got the chance.
Visitation is going to be on Saturday July 02, 2022 from 12:00 pm to 8:00 pm with a service at 6:00 pm. Followed by Cremation. Due to the current climate surrounding COVID -19, we are limiting the amount of visitors to our facility and requiring all guests to please wear a mask and observe social distancing. Services are entrusted to Hernandez Funerals in Rio Grande City.
