Rodrigo (Eloy) Valadez's Obituary
Rodrigo (Eloy) Valadez (72) passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 18, 2023, surrounded by family and friends. Rodrigo was born on January 20, 1951, in El Refugio Ranch (Rio Grande City, TX) to Encarnación and Dolores Valadez (✝️). He was a musician who loved playing the drums with his band and was a die-hard Dallas Cowboys fan. He is preceded in death by his parents, Encarnación and Dolores Valadez, his sisters Aida Valadez and Herminia De La Garza, his brother Placido Valadez and sister in law San Juanita Valadez. Rodrigo is survived by his wife, Maria Guadalupe Valadez, and children: Irasema Valadez, Dolores Valadez, Rita Valadez, Eloy Felix Valadez (Stephanie Garza) and his grandchildren Clayton and Ella Comer. Rodrigo is also survived by his sister Amalia (Horacio) Solis and brother in law Valeriano De La Garza, Jr. along with many nieces and nephews and many lifelong friends and loved ones, including Encarnación (Olga) Chapa. Pallbearers are Eloy Felix Valadez, Ivan Reyes, Valeriano DeLa Garza IV, Marcelo Chapa, Encarnación Chapa Jr, and Daniel Chapa. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 21st, from 1 pm to 8 pm with a rosary beginning at 6 pm at Hernandez Funeral Home. A chapel service will follow on Wednesday, November 22nd at San Pablo Apóstol Catholic Church in La Puerta at 11:00 am, followed by the burial at La Puerta Cemetery at 12:00 pm.
