Regina Vela Garza's Obituary
With great sorrow, we announce the passing of Regina Vela Garza, age, 76, on Monday, May 01, 2023 in her residence in Rio Grande City, Texas surrounded by her loving family. Regina, was a loving wife, daughter, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, great-grand-children, she will be greatly missed by her beloved family and close friends. She was born on May 17, 1946 in Los Ramones, Nuevo Leon, Mexico. She is preceded in death by her parents, Manuel Vela de Leon+, and Regina Valadez De Vela+, also by her son, Santos (Rosalinda+) Garza Jr+. She is survived her husband, Santos Garza Escamilla and her children, Maria Elena (Jorge Luis) Garza, Tomas (Brenda) Garza, Yolanda (Alfonso) Garza, and Sandra Garza (Carlos) Martinez, Monica Garza (Eduardo) Salazar. Survivors also include his 14 grandchildren, 6 great-grand-children, and many cousins, nieces, nephews, and extended family, all whom she loved dearly. Visitation is going to be on Wednesday May 03, 2023 from 1:00 pm to 8:00 pm with a rosary at 6:00 pm. Viewing continues on Thursday May 04, 2023 from 1:00 pm to 8:00 pm with a chapel service at 6:00 pm. Follow Burial at Panteon Dolores en Repueblo De Oriente Nuevo Leon, Mexico. Due to the current climate surrounding COVID -19, we are limiting the amount of visitors to our facility and requiring all guests to please wear a mask and observe social distancing. Funeral services are entrusted at Hernandez Funerals, LLC in Rio Grande City.
