Omar "Puma" Gonzalez's Obituary
With great sorrow, we announce the passing of Omar "Puma" Gonzalez on Sunday November 28, 2021 at the age, of 44, in Louisiana. Omar was our dearly loved husband, father, son, brother, uncle, nephew, and friend. He will be greatly missed by his beloved family and close friends. Omar was born on January 17,1977 in Rio Grande City, to Guadalupe and Evelia Diaz Gonzalez. He is preceded in death by his loving mother, Evelia Diaz Gonzalez. He is survived by his father, Guadalupe Gonzalez and his loving wife, Nereyda Barrera and his children, Gerardo Gonzalez & Alessandra Gonzalez. Survivors also include his brother and sisters, and many cousins, nieces, nephews, and extended family, all whom he loved dearly. Visitation is going to be held on Thursday December 02, 2021 from 2:00 pm to 9:00 pm with a rosary at 7:00 pm. Viewing continues on Friday December 03, 2021 from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm with a chapel service at 11:00 am. Follow Burial at Garciasville Cemetery at 12:30 pm. Due to the current climate surrounding COVID -19, we are limiting the amount of visitors to our facility and requiring all guests to please wear a mask and observe social distancing. Services are entrusted to Hernandez Funerals in Rio Grande City.
