Ofelia R. Rivas' Obituary
With great sorrow, we announce the passing of Ofelia R. Rivas, age, 88, on Friday, December 30, 2022 in her residence in Rio Grande City, Texas surrounded by her loving family. Ofelia, was a dearly daughter, mother, sister, aunt, grand-mother, great-grandmother she will be greatly missed by her beloved family and close friends. She was born on April 05, 1934 in Camargo, Tamps, Mexico. She is preceded in death by her loving parents, Fernando Roiz+ and Francisca Falcon+ also by her loving husband, Guadalupe M. Rivas+. She is survived by her loving children, San Juanita Rivas (Jose Luis) Adame, Crecencio (Silbia) Rivas, Jorge (Nancy) Rivas, Laura Rivas (Marco) Gonzalez, Sonia Rivas (Victor+) Rosado, and Hilda Rivas (Juan Antonio) Medina, Maria Guadalupe Rivas (Ruben) Islas, Francesca Rivas (John) Brown, Dora Rivas (Luis) Ramirez. Survivors also include her 30 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren and many cousins, nieces, nephews, and extended family, all whom she loved dearly. Visitation is going to be on Monday, January 02, 2023 from 1:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Viewing continues on Tuesday January 03, 2023 from 8:00 am to 12:45 pm going to Immaculate Church in Rio Grande City at 1:00 pm. Follow Burial in St. John's Cemetery in Rio Grande City at 2:00 pm . Due to the current climate surrounding COVID -19, we are limiting the amount of visitors to our facility and requiring all guests to please wear a mask and observe social distancing. Funeral services are entrusted at Hernandez Funerals, LLC in Rio Grande City.
