Matias Barrera Ibarra's Obituary
With great sorrow, we announce the passing of Matias Barrera Ibarra, on Wednesday November 03, 2021 at the age, of 73, in McAllen, Texas. Matias was our dearly loved husband, son, brother, nephew, and friend. He will be greatly missed by his beloved family and close friends. Matias was born on August 09,1948 in Mexico, to Juan Pablo and Maria Concepcion Ibarra. He is survived by his children, Renato Barrera, Erica Barrera and Ludy Barrera, Rigoberto Barrera. Survivors also include his brothers, Juan Barrera, Roberto Barrera and his 15 grandchildren, 1 great-granddaughter, and many cousins, nieces, nephews, and extended family, all whom he loved dearly. Visitation is going to be on Thursday November 04, 2021 from 1:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Viewing continues on Friday November 05, 2021 from 8:00 am to 11:30 am, going to Our Lady Queen of Angels Church in La Joya at 12:00 pm. Follow Burial at Santa Fe Cemetery in Mission at 1:00 pm. Due to the current climate surrounding COVID -19, we are limiting the amount of visitors to our facility and requiring all guests to please wear a mask and observe social distancing. Services are entrusted to Hernandez Funerals in La Joya.
