Mario S. Guerra's Obituary
With great sorrow, we announce the passing of Mario S. Guerra, on Monday October 23, 2023, at the age of 69, in McAllen, Texas. Mario was our dearly loved father, son, brother, nephew, and friend. He will be greatly missed by his beloved family and close friends. Mario was born on June 30, 1954, in Kingsville, Texas to Abel Guerra and Delfina Velasco Guerra. He is preceded in death by his parents, Abel Guerra +, Delfina Velasco Guerra + his wife, Norma Linda Guerra, and his brothers, Abel Guerra Jr + and Hector Guerra+. Mario leaves behind his loving children, Mario Abel (Isabel)Guerra, Jennifer Guerra and Robert Guerra. Survivors also include his sister, Elvia (Eddie) Casarez, and his 5 grandchildren, Brianna Guerra, Mario Abel Guerra Jr., Melinda Guerra, Sofia Rodriguez, Adrian Rodriguez and 1 great-granddaughter Danielle, many cousins, nieces, nephews, and extended family, all whom he loved dearly. The Guerra family invites you to join them in a celebration of faith in remembrance of his life. The family will receive friends and family on Wednesday, October 25, 2023, at the Hernandez Funerals, 701 E. Eisenhower, Rio Grande City from 12:00 pm to 8:00 pm. The recital of the holy rosary will begin at 6:00 pm. Viewing continues Thursday, October 26, 2023, from 8:00 am - 9:45 am followed by a mass at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church at 101 E. Canales Bros Street, in Rio Grande City at 10:00 am. Follow Burial at Los Barrera's Cemetery at 11:30 am. Services are entrusted to Hernandez Funerals in Rio Grande City.
