Maria Mercedes Villarreal's Obituary
With great sorrow, we announce the passing of Maria Mercedes Villarreal, age, 79, on Wednesday, March 08, 2023 in Rio Grande City, Texas. Maria, was a loving daughter, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, great-grandmother, she will be greatly missed by her beloved family and close friends. She was born on January 16, 1944 in Mexico. She is preceded in death by her loving parents, Longino Villarreal+ and Manuela Rodriguez Villarreal+. She is survived by her loving children, Maria Villarreal, Petronilo ( Liza Lorena) Villarreal, Jesus (Dora) Villarreal, and Bertha Alicia (Ruben) Vela, Longino (Lydia) Villarreal, Josue ( Vanessa) Villarreal. Survivors also include her 19 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and many cousins, nieces, nephews, and extended family, all whom she loved dearly. Visitation is going to be on Friday March 10, 2023 from 12:00 pm to 8:00 pm with a rosary at 6:00 pm. Viewing continues on Saturday March 11, 2023 from 8:00 am to 10:30 am going to Our Lady of Peace Church in La Casita at 11:00 am. Follow Burial at La Casita Cemetery at 12:30 pm. Due to the current climate surrounding COVID -19, we are limiting the amount of visitors to our facility and requiring all guests to please wear a mask and observe social distancing. Funeral services are entrusted at Hernandez Funerals, LLC in Rio Grande City.
