Maria Veliz Garza's Obituary
With great sorrow, we announce the passing of Maria Veliz Garza, on Friday September 03, 2021 at the age of 81 in McAllen, Texas. Maria was our dearly loved wife, mother, daughter, grandmother, sister and friend. She will be greatly missed by her beloved family and close friends. Maria was born on March 13, 1940 in Camargo, Mexico to Paulino Veliz and Petra Pena Veliz. She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband. Maria leaves behind her loving sons, Juan Jose Garza, Orlando Garza and Alfonso Garza. Survivors also include her siblings, Esperanza Solis, Juany Salinas and Gustavo Rivera, Daniel Rivera also by her 5 grandchildren, 2 greatgrandchildren, and many cousins, nieces, nephews, and extended family, all whom she loved dearly. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 08, from 9:00 am to 1:30 pm with a chapel service at 1:00 pm. Follow Burial at Lord and I Cemetery in Penitas at 2:00 pm. Due to the current climate surrounding COVID -19, we are limiting the amount of visitors to our facility and requiring all guests to please wear a mask and observe social distancing. Services are entrusted to Hernandez Funerals in La Joya.
