Maria Elia V. Chapa's Obituary
With great sorrow, we announce the passing of Maria Elia V. Chapa, on Saturday, September 10, 2022 at the age, of 75, in McAllen, Texas. Maria, was a dearly loving mother, wife, daughter, sister, grand-mother, great-grand-mother, niece, and friend. She will be greatly missed by her beloved family and close friends. Maria, was born on December 26, 1946 in Rio Grande City. She is preceded in death by her loving parents, Jorge Villarreal+ and Maria Luisa Garza Villarreal + also by her loving ex-husband, Eduardo Chapa Sr.+. She was employed in Rio Grande City School District for over 45 plus years .She is survived her loving sons, Eduardo (Yvette) Chapa Jr., Rene Orlando (Maria) Chapa, Adalberto Eli (Claudia) Chapa, and her loving daughters, Laura Lorena Chapa (Adalberto) Morales, Christina Aracely Chapa (Jose Maria) Ortiz. Survivors also include her 13 grandchildren, 10 great-grand-children, and many cousins, nieces, nephews, and extended family, all whom she loved dearly. Visitation is going to be on Tuesday September 13, 2022 from 11:00 am to 8:00 pm with a rosary at 7:00 pm. Viewing continues on Wednesday September 14, 2022 from 8:00 am to 12:45 pm going to Immaculate Church in Rio Grande City at 1:00 pm. Follow by Cremation. Due to the current climate surrounding COVID -19, we are limiting the amount of visitors to our facility and requiring all guests to please wear a mask and observe social distancing. Services are entrusted to Hernandez Funerals in Rio Grande City.
