It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Maria Dolores Serna, age, 37, who entered eternal rest on Saturday, June 15, 2024, in Rio Grande City, Texas. Maria was born on December 03, 1986 in Rio Grande City, to Samuel Serna and Maria San Juanita Zarate. She was a loving mother, daughter, sister, grand-daughter, niece, and aunt. Left to cherish her memory are her loving parents, Maria San Juanita Zarate and Samuel Serna, and her loving children, Ashley Alvarez, Eliza Alvarez, Iliana Sandoval, Christina Perez, Felipe Perez, Mia Serna, and Samayra Pina, Daniela Barrera, David Barrera, Adriana Barrera, Marissa Aguirre. Survivors also include her sisters, Jennifer Serna, Samantha (Franky) Gomez, Claudia Serna, her brother, Eligio (Ashely) Lopez Jr. She is also survived by her grandmother, numerous aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, cousins, and extended family. The Serna Family invites you to join them in a celebration of faith in remembrance of her life. The Serna Family has entrusted the care of the funeral director and staff at Hernandez Funerals, LLC to handle funeral arrangements.
