With great sorrow, we announce the passing of Maria De Los Angeles Pena on Friday November 03, 2023 at the age of 92, in her residence in Alton, Texas surrounded by her family. Maria was our dearly loved wife, mother, daughter, sister, niece, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. She will be greatly missed by her beloved family and close friends. Maria, was born on February 22, 1931, in Arcabuz, Tamps, Mexico to Matias Pena and Paula Gonzalez Pena. He is preceded in death by her parents, Matias Pena+ and Paula Gonzalez Pena+. Maria, leaves behind her loving husband, Daniel Gutierrez and her loving son, Ramon E. Gutierrez and her daughter, Sylvia Garcia also by his 7 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, many cousins, nieces, nephews, and extended family, all whom she loved dearly. The Pena and Gutierrez family invites you to join them in a celebration of faith in remembrance of her life. The family will receive friends and family on Monday, November 06, 2023 from 12:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Hernandez Funerals at (806 E. Expressway 83 in La Joya, Texas). Viewing continues Tuesday, November 07, 2023, from 8:00 am – 10:45 am with a chapel service at 10:00 am. Follow Burial at Lord and I Cemetery in Palmview, Texas at 11:00 am. Services are entrusted to Hernandez Funerals in La Joya.
