Maria Celia Gonzalez's Obituary
With great sorrow, we announce the passing of Maria Celia Gonzalez, of La Joya, Texas, on Saturday December 11, 2021 at the age, of 85. Maria was our dearly loved wife, daughter, sister, mother, aunt, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. She is preceded in death by her parents, Regino and Juanita Gutierrez Elizondo, her husband. She is survived by her children, Maria Angelica Rodriguez, Manuel De Jesus Gonzalez, Etelvina Esparza and Hector Javier Gonzalez, Maria Celia Martine. Survivors also include her sisters, Santitos Flores, Ernestina Sandoval, Gudelia Vasquez and her 17 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, cousins, nieces, nephews and extended family. Visitation will be held on Tuesday December 14, 2021 from 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm, with a rosary at 7:00 pm at Hernandez Funerals in La Joya, Texas. Viewing continues on Wednesday, December 15 from 8:00 am to time pending. Mass will be held at Our Lady Queen of Angels, La Joya, Texas. Follow Burial at La Joya Cemetery. Due to the current climate surrounding COVID -19, we are limiting the amount of visitors to our facility and requiring all guests to please wear a mask and observe social distancing.
