Maria Contreras Ortiz's Obituary
It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Maria C. Ortiz on Thursday, December 30, 2021, at the age of 96, in McAllen, Texas. She is preceded in death by her parents, Refugio Contreras and Ysidora Ortega, her husband, Adan Ortiz and her children, Refugio (Alicia) Contreras, Juanita (David Thornton) Ortiz, Juan Reyes Ortiz also by her siblings, Miguel (Adela) Contreras, Micaela (Jose) Castro, Teodora (Eleno) Banda, Heriberto (Rosa) Contreras and Refugio (Elva) Contreras, Esperanza (Bartolo) Galvan, Ofelia (Noe) Gonzalez, Dalia (Guadalupe) Bermea, Pilar (Julia) Ortiz. She will lovingly be remembered by her children: Mary Cotts, Adan (Vernetta) Ortiz, Demetria (Hector) Lozano, Felix Ortiz and Rosario (Daniel) Dimas, Maricela (Natividad) Vasquez, Haydee (Gilberto) De La Cruz, Rodolfo Contreras. Survivors also include her 28 grand-children, 51 great-grand-children, 21 great-great-children as well as numerous relatives and friends. A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, January 02, 2022 at Hernandez Funerals in Rio Grande City, TX from 1:00 pm - 8:00 pm. Viewing continues on Monday January 03, 2022 from 8:00 am - 12:30 pm going to First Baptist Church in La Grulla at 1:00 pm. Follow Burial at Los Solis's Cemetery in La Grulla at 2:00 pm. Due to the current climate surrounding COVID -19, we are limiting the amount of visitors to our facility and requiring all guests to please wear a mask and observe social distancing. Services are entrusted to Hernandez Funerals in Rio Grande City.
