Magda Margot Alvarez's Obituary
With great sorrow, we announce the passing of Magda Margot Alvarez, on Monday October 18, 2021 at the age, of 70, in McAllen, Texas. Magda was our dearly loved wife, mother, daughter, 9 grand-children, 2 great-grandchildren, sister, niece, and friend. She will be greatly missed by her beloved family and close friends. Magda was born on August 25, 1951 in Rio Grande City, Texas, to Jose V. and Maria Rodriguez Alvarez. She is preceded in death by her parents, Jose and Maria Rodriguez Alvarez and her husband, Raul Alvarez. She is survived by her children, Maria O. Alvarez, Raul Alvarez Jr., Graciela Alvarez, Gerardo "Jerry" Alvarez. Survivors also include her 9 grand-children, 2 great-grandchildren and many cousins, nieces, nephews, and extended family, all whom she loved dearly. Visitation is going to be on Friday October 22, 2021 from 1:00 pm to 8:00 pm with a rosary at 6:00 pm. Viewing continues on Saturday October 23, 2021 from 8:00 am to 10:15 am, going to Sacred Heart Church in Escobares at 11:00 am. Follow Burial at Family Alvarez Cemetery in Rio Grande City at 12:15 pm. Due to the current climate surrounding COVID -19, we are limiting the amount of visitors to our facility and requiring all guests to please wear a mask and observe social distancing. Services are entrusted to Hernandez Funerals in Rio Grande City.
