Lilia G. Pena's Obituary
Our Dear Mother, Lilia Garza Peña, sadly passed away on January 03, 2024 at the age of 89 at her residence in Delmita, Texas.
She was a devoted wife to her late husband, Santos Reyes Peña, and a loving and caring mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sibling and friend to many. She will be greatly missed.
Lilia was born to the late Amado and Refugia Garza on October 14, 1934 in Rio Grande City, Texas. She was preceded in death by her siblings Eva Angelina Garza, Israel Garza, Ismael Garza, Efrain Garza, Ramon Garza, Luz Bella Ramirez, and her twin Beatrice Garza.
Left to cherish her memory are her brother Guadalupe Garza, her sister Maria Elvia Young (Charles), her children Lydia P. Oviedo (Albino Jr.), Idalia P. Trevino (Roy), and Roel S. Peña. Also her step children Celinda P. Reyna (Severo) and the late Santos Peña Jr.
Grandchildren: Criselda, Eloy (Erica), Javier (Roxanna), and Roberto (Margaret) Reyna. Steven, Pascual (Courtney), and Irene (Saurav) Trevino and nine Great Grandchildren.
Lilia loved children and was a Nana to several including Rogelio (Roger) Peña, and Naitha & Lori Laurel.
Her hobbies included quilting, baking, cooking, sewing and gardening.
Arrangements
Visitation to be held on Friday, January 5, 2024 from 1:00pm to 6:00pm at Hernandez Funerals in Rio Grande City with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 4:00pm.
Funeral mass to be held at 10:30am at San Isidro Catholic Church followed by burial at family cemetery in Delmita, Texas.
