Leonel Garcia Villarreal's Obituary
With great sorrow, we announce the passing of Leonel Garcia Villarreal, on Friday July 29, 2022 at the age, of 81, in McAllen, Texas. Leonel, was a dearly loved son, brother, father, grandfather, great grandfather, nephew and friend. He will be greatly missed by his beloved family and close friends. Leonel, was born on August 16, 1940 in El Azucar Tamps, Mexico. He is preceded in death by his loving parents Jose Maria Villarreal and Mauricia Garcia; son Leo Ortega, and grandson Leo Ortega Jr. Survivors include his children, Irma Garrett (Kevin), Steve Ortega, Sonia Ortega, and Jorge Mendoza (Marilu); grandchildren, Frances Nicole Gonsalez, Daniel Garcia, Ricky Rodrigues, Jennifer Rodriguez, Krystle Garrett, Corina Gonsalez, Chelcy Garrett, and Autumn Garcia; and his great grandchildren, Aryanna, Joe, Priscilla, Andre, Danielle, Roman, Nathaniel, Valerie and Xavier. Visitation is going to be on Tuesday August 02, 2022 from 12:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Viewing continues on Wednesday August 03, 2022 from 8:00 am to 9:45 am with a chapel service at 9:00 am. Followed by a burial at Rio Grande City Cemetery at 10:00 am. Due to the current climate surrounding COVID -19, we are limiting the amount of visitors to our facility and requiring all guests to please wear a mask and observe social distancing. Services are entrusted to Hernandez Funerals in Rio Grande City.
