Juan “Johnny” T. De La Cruz was born on November 10, 1947 in Hebbronville, Texas. A hard working and proud Vietnam Veteran, Johnny overcame obstacles and forged ahead with honor and strength. On Tuesday, March 12, 2024 in McAllen, Texas, he entered into eternal rest and reunited with his wife of 54 years. He was preceded in death by his parents Antonio De La Cruz+ and Amparo Trevino De La Cruz+, and his loving wife Pauline Klein De La Cruz+. Left to cherish his memory are his children Marcie De La Cruz and John A. (Bea) De La Cruz, 6 siblings, 9 grandchildren —Jazmin Esperanza De La Cruz, Miguel Angel De La Cruz, Jacob (Kelsie) Westbrook, Virgilio Alvarez Jr., Victoria Alvarez, Matthew Alvarez, Sebastian Alvarez, Elliana Alvarez and Vicente Alvarez, honorary daughter Anissa (Michael) Westbrook, numerous of De La Cruz nieces and nephews, and by the Klein Family —Irene Klein, Aristeo (Ruby) Klein, Ruben+ (Adriana) Klein, Manuel (Andrea) Alvarez III, Virgilio (Sandra) Alvarez, Victor (Leticia) Alvarez, Betsy (Krystal) Klein, Tracey Klein, Denise (Dominic) Klein, Donny (Mari) Klein and Robert (Cassandra) Klein. The family invites you to join them in a celebration of faith in remembrance of his life. Viewing will be held on Friday, March 15, 2024 from 2:00 pm – 8:00 pm. A memorial service will begin at 6:30 pm. Viewing continues on Saturday, March 16, 2024 from 8:00 am - 11:00 am. Followed by Cremation. Funeral services are entrusted to Hernandez Funerals, LLC, in Rio Grande City.
