Jose Angel Villarreal's Obituary
JOSE ANGEL VILLARREAL, LA GRULLA – Jose Angel Villarreal, 80, of La Grulla passed away at Mission Nursing and Rehabilitation/Hospice Center on Sunday - June 12, 2022. Jose Angel was born on 24 February 1942 in La Grulla to Mr. and Mrs. Juan and Antonia G. Villarreal. Jose Angel was a lifetime member of La Grulla. He was a Retired Vocational Teacher of over 25 years. Served his country in the Vietnam War and served in the VFW as a lifetime member and volunteer in all Veteran activities as well as a City of La Grulla Councilman.
Jose Angel was preceded in death by his loving parents, Juan and Antonia G. Villarreal also by his loving siblings, +Elisa Villarreal, +Aniceto Villarreal (+Cosme Lopez), +Macario Villarreal (Evila), +Gilberto Villarreal (+Orfelinda H.). Survived by Antonia Villarreal Solis (+Ramiro), Juan Villarreal Jr., and Jesus M. Villarreal (Maggie) all of La Grulla, and 20 nephews and nieces and many great nieces and nephews.
He was a beloved uncle and will be truly missed by his family. Visitation will take place on Tuesday, June 14, 2022 from 12pm until 8pm at Hernandez Funerals with a rosary recited at 6pm the same evening. Visitation will continue on Wednesday June 15, 2022, from 8am until 9:30am at which time the funeral procession will depart at Hernandez Funerals for a funeral Mass at Holy Family Catholic Church in La Grulla at 10:00 a.m.
Interment will follow at Ruben Solis Cemetery in La Grulla at 11:30 am. The Villarreal and Solis Family has entrusted the care of the funeral director and staff at Hernandez Funerals, LLC in Rio Grande City to handle funeral arrangements.
