Jorge (Georgie) Luis Lopez Jr.'s Obituary
Jorge Luis Lopez (Georgie), Jr., 44, went to be with the Lord on December 18, 2022 at Rio Grande Regional Hospital. He was born on March 3, 1978 in Rio Grande City, TX to the late Jorge Luis Lopez, Sr. and Aurelia Garza Lopez.
Georgie graduated from Rio Grande City High School in 1996. He was employed for several years as a correctional officer in both Starr County and Hidalgo County. He has also attended STCC in Rio Grande City, Tx.
In addition to his father, he was pre-deceased by his sisters, Clarissa and Celina Alexis Lopez, his paternal grandfather, Cipriano M. Lopez, his maternal grandparents, Roberto D. Garza and Aurelia A. Garza, and an aunt, Gloria D. Garza. In addition to his mother, Georgie is survived by his brother, Javier Arturo Lopez (Maricela), nephew, Javier C. (J.C) Lopez, his paternal grandmother, Josefa M. Lopez, numerous aunts,
uncles and cousins.
Georgie's favorite past-times were hunting, fishing, barbecuing, playing his bass guitar, composing poetry and songs, drawing and spending time with his friends and family.
Visitation will be on Thursday, December 22, 2022 from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm with a chapel service at 2:00 pm. Burial to follow at Rio Grande City Cemetery. Funeral services entrusted by Hernandez Funerals, LLC in Rio Grande City, Tx.
