Irene Castillo, age 88, was called to eternal peace on Friday September 01, 2023 in Rio Grande City, Texas. She was born on August 31, 1935 in La Grulla Texas. She was a beloved daughter, sister, tia, mama, abuela and valuable friend to many. She was a helping hand to all of her nieces and nephews who loved her like a mother. She is proceeded in death by her parents +Jose Castillo and+ Gabriela E. Castillo and her +9 siblings also by his nephew, +Adan Castillo Jr. She is survived by her brothers, Adan Castillo and Innocente Castillo and her nieces and nephew, Elena Castillo, Noemi Castillo, and Noe Castillo. She was the pillar of the family and everyone turned to her when in need. She leaves behind wise words of wisdom as well as many valuable life lessons. Her home was always open to all who needed it and she had the opportunity to share her life and create memories with her family who will continue to cherish her legacy. She will be fondly remembered by family and friends as the great woman she was. The family invites you to join them in a celebration of faith in remembrance of her life. Viewing will be held on Sunday September 03, 2023 from 3:00 pm – 8:00 pm. Viewing will continue on Tuesday September 04, 2023 from 8:00 am – 9:30 am. The family also invites you to accompany them in Mass at Holy Family Church in La Grulla, Texas at 10:00apm. Followed by her burial at 11:00 am at Los Solis's Cemetery in La Grulla.
