Hortencia Tamez Cabello's Obituary
With great sorrow, we announce the passing of Hortencia Tamez Cabello on Thursday November 25, 2021 at the age, of 95, in her residence in Rio Grande City, Texas., surrounded by her loving family. Hortencia was our dearly loved daughter, sister, grand-mother, great-grandchildren, great-great-grand-children, aunt, niece, and friend. She will be greatly missed by her beloved family and close friends. Hortencia was born on December 11,1925 in La Reforma, Texas, to San Juanita Garcia. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Jose Cabello and her sons, Jose Angel Cabello, Mario Ernesto Cabello, Isabel Omar Cabello also by Juanita Cabello, Agustin Sanchez., Maria L. Cabello. She is survived by her loving children, Maria Olga (Mauro) Barrera, Francisco Javier Cabello, Maria Esther Sanchez, Maria Lydia (Gulberto) Torres and Norma Florinda (Jerry) Tamez, San Juanita (Eliberto) Garcia, Margarita Yolanda Garcia, Maria Luisa Swanson, daughter in law, Ronda Cabello and Guadalupe Angel (Rica) Cabello, Maria Elena (Jose) Salas, Maria Hortencia Zerna Survivors also include her 31 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, great-great-grand-children and many cousins, nieces, nephews, and extended family, all whom she loved dearly. Visitation is going to be on Sunday November 28, 2021 from 1:00 pm to 8:00 pm with a rosary at 6:00 pm. Viewing continues on Monday November 29, 2021 from 8:00 am to 9:45 am going to Immaculate Church in Rio Grande City at 10:00 am. Follow Burial at Rio Grande City Cemetery at 11:00 am. Due to the current climate surrounding COVID -19, we are limiting the amount of visitors to our facility and requiring all guests to please wear a mask and observe social distancing. Services are entrusted to Hernandez Funerals in Rio Grande City.
