Hortencia Romero's Obituary
Hortencia Romero, age 97, passed away peacefully on Monday December 18, 2023 in her Residence, in Alto Bonito surrounded by her family. She was born on September 16, 1926 in La Grulla, Texas to Matias Zarate and Martha Perez Zarate. Hortencia was a dearly loved wife, daughter, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, greart-great grandmother. She is preceded in death by her parents, Matias Zarate+ and Martha Perez Zarate+, her husband, Fidel Romero+ also by her sons, Refugio Contreras+, Onsemio Zarate+, Leandro Tanguma+. She is survived by her children, Eliberto Contreras, Hortencia Contreras, Flora Guevara, Ismael Flores, and Juana Martinez, Zolio Flores, Guadalupe Pena, and Sylvia Medelez, Sylvina Villarreal. Also, by her numerous grandchildren, great-grand-children, great-great-grand-children and nieces, nephews. The Romero family invites you to join them in a celebration of faith in remembrance of her life. The Romero family will receive family and friends on Friday December 22, 2023 from 12:00 pm to 8:00 pm. The recital of the rosary will begin at 6:00 pm. Viewing continues Saturday December 23, 2023 from 8:00 am to 9:30 am going to Holy Family Church in La Grulla at 10:00 am. Followed Burial at Los Solis's Cemetery in La Grulla at 11:00 am. Funeral services are entrusted at Hernandez Funerals, LLC in Rio Grande City.
