Gilberto O. Alaniz, age, 92, passed away Tuesday, December 29, 2020 in his residence in Rio Grande City surrounded by his family. He was born on February 03,1928 in Rio Grande City. He is preceded in death by his parents Paulino and Maria O. Alaniz. He is survived by his wife, Modesta Hernandez Alaniz and his sons, Roberto (Maria Susana) Alaniz, Jorge Luis Alaniz. Survivors also include his 03 grandchildren and 02 great-grand-children. Viewing is going to be on Wednesday December 30 2020 from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm with a rosary at 6:00 pm. Viewing continues on Thursday December 31, 2020 from 8:00 am to 2:00 pm with a chapel service at 1:00 pm follow to Rio Grande City Cemetery at 2:10 pm. Due to the current climate surrounding COVID -19, we are limiting the amount of visitors to our facility and requiring all guests to please wear a mask and observe social distancing. Funeral services are entrusted at Hernandez Funerals, LLC in Rio Grande City.
