With great sorrow, we announce the passing of Gerardo Vasquez, on Sunday October 29, 2023, at the age of 56, in Edinburg, Texas. Gerardo was our dearly loved husband, father, son, brother, nephew, grandfather, and friend. He will be greatly missed by his beloved family and close friends. Gerardo was born on December 08, 1966, in Miguel Aleman, Tamps, Mexico to Gerardo Vasquez and Leonila Chapa Vasquez. He is preceded in death by his parents, Gerardo Vasquez+ and Leonila Chapa Vasquez+ and his brother, Rolando Vasquez+. Gerardo leaves behind his loving wife, Silvia A. Gutierrez De Vasquez and his loving children, Silvia Iveth Vasquez, Valeria Vasquez, Melissa Gonzalez, Priscilla Elizabeth Vasquez, Gerardo Vasquez Jr. Survivors also include his sisters, Isabel Martinez, Yolanda Vasquez, and brother, Mario Vasquez also by his 4 grandchildren, many cousins, nieces, nephews, and extended family, all whom he loved dearly. The Vasquez family invites you to join them in a celebration of faith in remembrance of his life. The family will receive friends and family on Friday, November 03, 2023 from 11:00 am to 9:00 pm at Hernandez Funerals at (806 E. Expressway 83 in La Joya, Texas) The recital of the holy rosary will begin at 7:00 pm. Viewing continues Saturday, November 04, 2023, from 8:00 am – 9:10 am followed by a mass at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church at (465 W. Expressway 83 in Sullivan, City, Texas) at 10:00 am. Follow Burial at Sullivan City Memorial Cemetery at 11:00 am. Services are entrusted to Hernandez Funerals in La Joya.
