In Loving Memory of Francisca Tanguma Garcia
Francisca Tanguma Garcia peacefully passed away at her home on November 11, 2024. She was born on July 4, 1928, in Starr County to Genoveba Rodriguez Tanguma and Andres Villarreal, a dedicated rancher in the area. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Salvador Trevino Garcia, as well as her seven siblings: Manuel, Juan, Rodolfo, Esteban, Cuate, Jovita, Rebecca, and Martha. Francisca grew up during the Great Depression and was fortunate to receive her education in a one-room schoolhouse in Starr County. Her passion for nurturing life was evident in her love for cultivating large vegetable gardens at the family ranch, a cherished activity she shared with her sons. She is survived by her children: Jorge Rolando, Americo Eloy, Normalinda (Jose) Martinez, Anabella (Ray Garza), Bertha (David Aguero), Salvador Jr., and Rogelio (Claudia) Garcia. Francisca's legacy also lives on through her beloved grandchildren: Angelica, Kristal, Marysol, Anastasia, Norma Cristina, George, Juan Manuel, Americo, Joseluis, Andres, Johnny, Arthur, Adrian, Dennis, Bevo, Roy, Alejandro, Omar, and Rodger. Additionally, she was blessed with 36 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces and nephews whom she adored. Francisca will be remembered for her unwavering love, strength, and the warmth she brought to all who knew her. Funeral services will be held at Hernandez Funerals in Rio Grande City, TX.
