Carolina S. Rodriguez's Obituary
Carolina S Rodriguez passed away on May12, 2023 at the age of 87 years old. She was a resident of Rio Grande City for the majority of her life where she worked with the County Nutrition Program early in her life and later was involved with the political movement in Starr County by advocating for the senior population to be heard and vote. Encouraging voting was her ultimate goal. She would personally transport any person needing a ride to vote. These relationships became more than friendships as Carolina became involved in their daily lives in helping her new friends who in many instances did not family to depend on. Her caring attitude was only one of many attributes.
One of Carolina’s favorite past times was to garden and plant. This activity kept her busy year-round and she definitely had a green thumb. She enjoyed music, dance and cooking for her friends. Her love for her daughter, family and friends was unmeasurable. Her unselfish traits led to happiness, kindness, humbleness and rich in friendships. Her love of people and life will be missed by many.
Carolina S Rodriguez is preceded in death by her husband Raul B Rodriguez, her son who died at birth, her parents Ramon and Aurora Sotullo, and her sister Magarity Sanchez.
She is survived by her daughter Rosa Stansel and her husband Willie Stansel. Her grandkids Jacklyn Diffee (husband Aaron Diffee) and April Cruz (husband Fred Cruz). In addition, 6 great grandchildren Colin, Freddie, Willie, Chase, Cason, Sofia and one step grandchild Brianna.
