I remember being at the Phoenix Greyhound park most of our weekends when I was little, I remember traveling to different tracks around AZ. I remember one year coming to McAllen,TX and seeing this little girl that look just like me it was weird. I remember having actual family dinners and my dad yelling for my sister to get off the phone and my mom making home made tortillas for my dad.I remember one Father’s Day trying to find a present but couldn’t buy the one I wanted and little tears coming down my eyes crying to my dad about it but he was calming me down that it was fine and not to worry. I remember he really liked Elvis and having those side burns, enjoyed watching Bruce Lee movies and 007 James Bond. I remember my dad moving to TX after my parents divorced when I was 13/14 years old and only seen him again a few times throughout his remaining life. At least he was able to see my sons Angel and Gabriel and daughter Nicole and my sister 2 kids when they were little. I wish they had the opportunity to have there grandpa in Glendale, AZ so they could of had that special bond with there grandpa Ben. My sister and dad talked on the phone every weekend and she would keep me posted about him as he was sick for more then 20 years but he keep the fight going and now he can rest. I remember all the times I wished my dad was with me and my sister and was not missing all the life changing events in our lives. My dad loved my sister with all his heart she was born 7 years before me and my parents weren’t sure they were able to have more kids after my sister was born but I came along as a surprise and my dad thought I was a boy. My mom said she was yelling at my dad at the hospital can’t you see she is a girl. I loved my dad and I know he loved me. I will see him again one day but for now dad the next time in Vegas I’m going to bet on the greyhound dog races just for you, so help me pick the right numbers and make us winners! Love your daughter Roxanne Flores
