Anita Lara Alvarez, age, 74, passed away on Thursday March 04, 2021 in her residence in McAllen surrounded by her family. She was born on January 15, 1947 in Rio Grande City to Francisco and Teresa Alvarez Lara. She is survived by her husband, Primitivo Alvarez and her children, Anna Villarreal, Norma Villarreal, Jesse Alvarez and Cynthia Alvarez. Survivors also include her siblings, Lorenzo Lara, Adela De Leon, Francisco Lara (+), Manuel Lara. Survivors also include her grand-children, Jennifer, Ruben, Mitchell, Andrew, Jesse, Roel, Aissa, Bryan, Jorge, Denise, Samantha, Alexandre, Joel, also her great-grand-children, Hailey, Jordan, Katlyn, Audrina, Mila, Jesse III, Avery, Adalyn, Alejos. Viewing will be held on Friday March 05, 2021 from 1:00 pm to 8:00 pm with a rosary at 6:00 pm. Viewing continues on Saturday March 06, 2021 from 8:00 am to 11:00 am with a chapel service at 10:00 am follow burial at La Paz Cemetery in Rio Grande City at 11:30 am. Due to the current climate surrounding COVID -19, we are limiting the amount of visitors to our facility and requiring all guests to please wear a mask and observe social distancing. Funeral services are entrusted at Hernandez Funerals, LLC in Rio Grande City.
