Amalia S. Rivera's Obituary
Amalia S. Rivera was born on August 9th, 1929 in La Grulla & passed away Monday, November 6th, 2023 at Rio Grande Regional Hospital in McAllen. Amalia is well known for making the best raspas in town & many have fond memories of their experience visiting her neighborhood store filled with historic memorabilia. She is preceded in death by her parents Ramon Solis & Lucia Cantu, her husband Reynaldo L. Rivera, her daughters Azucena R. Gonzalez & Rebecca R. Venecia. She is survived by her daughters Albesa R. Parras (Modesto), Hilda R. Elizondo (Alberto), Amalia R. Treviño (Humberto), Susanna R. Treviño (Jorge), Sylvina Rivera, Rosalinda Rivera (Adolfo), & a son Reynaldo Rivera Jr. she is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren & great great grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Wednesday 12:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. at Hernandez Funerals, LLC in Rio Grande City. Funeral service will be held at Holy Family Catholic Church in La Grulla with burial immediately following at Ruben Solis Cemetery.
