Octavilo Gonzalez

January 8, 1944 - January 25, 2022

With great sorrow, we announce the passing of Octavilo Gonzalez of Rio Grande City, Texas, on Tuesday January 25, 2022 at the age, of 78, in McAllen, Texas. Octavilo was our dearly loved husband, son, brother, father, uncle, grandfather, great-grand-father and friend. He is preceded in death by his parents, Telesforo Gonzalez and Felipa Gonzalez. He is survived by his loving wife, Maria del Refugio M. Gonzalez and his children, Maria del Refugio Gonzalez, Sylvia G. Trevino, Oscar Octavilo Gonzalez and Irma N. Luna, Noelia Gonzalez. Survivors also include his 17 grand-children, 9 great-grandchildren, cousins, nieces, nephews and extended family. Visitation will be held on Saturday January 29, 2022 from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Hernandez Funerals in Rio Grande City, Texas. Viewing continues on Sunday, January 30, from 8:00 am to 11:10 am going to Primera Iglesia Bautista in Rio Grande City at 11:30 am. Follow Burial at Rio Grande City Cemetery at 12:30 pm. Due to the current climate surrounding COVID -19, we are limiting the amount of visitors to our facility and requiring all guests to please wear a mask and observe social distancing.
