She was born on December 16, 1934 in Pecos, Texas. She is preceded in death by her mother, Maria De Refugio Lopez (+), also by her father, Juan Mena (+). She is survived by her husband Fortunato Lozano also by her children, Refugio Angel Lozano, Maria Leticia (Amde) Barrera, and Fortunato (Melba) Lozano .
