Ernesto Chapa

December 5, 1936 - February 15, 2022

It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Ernesto Chapa, on Tuesday, February 15, 2022, at the age of 85, in Rio Grande City, Texas. He is preceded in death by his loving parents, Edviges Chapa and Luciana Fuentes and his loving wife, Gertruds Lopez Chapa. He will lovingly be remembered by his loving daughters, Monica Chapa Aguilar, Melissa Chapa Garza. Survivors also include his 3 grand-children as well as numerous relatives and friends. A celebration of life will be held on Friday, February 18, 2022 at Hernandez Funerals in Rio Grande City, TX from 11:00 am - 8:00 pm with a rosary at 6:00 pm follow by Cremation. Due to the current climate surrounding COVID -19, we are limiting the amount of visitors to our facility and requiring all guests to please wear a mask and observe social distancing. Services are entrusted to Hernandez Funerals in Rio Grande City.
