My condolences to his only sister that Cruz has, Maria, also his brother-in-law, Severo Villarreal, Jr. Cruz was a dear friend I met in high school when I was a junior & he was a sophomore. I didn't even know him when he was a freshman & I a sophomore. It wasn't until I was a junior that I was in R.O.T.C. & I remember we had to usher for the visitor side when it was football season, & that's when I met Cruz; we became good friends. He remains in my heart as a dear friend. Maria & I became real good friends, too. I graduated in "1976" & Cruz in "1977". I never had the pleasure of seeing Cruz ever again, but he is not & will never be forgotten in my heart. To Maria, Severo & their children, once again, I am so, so sorry for their loss.
