Velma and I met the summer after we turned 13 I went with my family to visit their hometown in Rio grande City and my mom and her mom had been best friends when they were young so my mom met up with her mom and that's how we met we hit it off immediately I think we wanted to be best friends like our moms and let the tradition carry on so she invited me to stay the summer with her down in Rio and surprisingly my mom let me stay and it was one of the best Summers I ever had I learned a lot from Velma one of the things that I treasure and will never forget is that she taught me to see people for who they really were and to love them unconditionally she would tell me not everybody's your real friend and you need to value the ones who really are and as you may well know being a teenager there aren't alot of really good friends but she was definitely one of them and I will never forget that.Thanks Velma say hi to Mr. Corey n my mom for me .
